I will (along with the medical and psychological field) say that homosexuals are not born homosexual, instead the homosexual lifestyle that they live is a choice that they made/make. Of course, many (if not most) homosexuals will not agree with the previous statement (even if the evidence medically and psychologically, is against them). Some even go so far as to try to manipulate organizations such as The American Psychological Association, claiming that the APA states that homosexuals are born that way. It is a form of deception because they (homosexuals) know that everything points to the fact that their lifestyle is a choice. They are looking for others to accept them so that they can calm their conscious of the evil that they practice. The Bible says that God gives each one of us a conscious that bothers us when we do what is wrong, and it is true. I would like to take a look at what the APA has to say about homosexuality, that is, if homosexuals are born that way of if they choose to live the gay lifestyle.
As I was reading an article published in the APA, “Gay-To-Straight Research”, I discovered the following things. “Clients have the right to pursue change”, the author says, because “sexual orientation, once thought to be an unchanging trait, is actually quite flexible for some people.” Later the author of the article claims, “sexual orientation is a socially-constructed product of a client’s life experiences and can therefore be modified”. We can see for ourselves that the APA even publishes evidence contrary to the claim (made by homosexuals) that homosexuals are born the way that they are and therefore cannot change. The Bible says that homosexuality is a choice (a sin) and that once you choose to live that lifestyle you become a slave to it. That is the bad news. The good news is that through Jesus Christ you can be transformed.
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. (I Corinthians 6:9-11)
In the Corinthian church there were people from all kinds of different backgrounds. Before accepting Christ as Lord and Savior and having their lives transformed, many of them were sexual perverts (some practicing prostitution, while others practiced homosexuality) but they did not remain that way all of their lives. They were transformed and set free from their slavery to sexual sin (homosexuality being a sexual sin). People can be changed, the Bible says it and science confirms it. May God help us take His hope to all.
