If you do not know about the battle that took place in the state of Mississippi this election cycle then I would like to point out the battle over prop 26. Voting no on 26 meant that you were okay with the legal murdering of innocent babies in the womb. Voting yes meant that you understand God’s stance on life and chose to stand with Him. I am sad to say that 60% of the people who voted in the state of Mississippi voted for legal murder and took stance against God. I want to present God’s view of abortion (yes, the Bible talks specifically about abortion) and then call those who took a stance against God to repent publicly so that they can be forgiven and not experience God’s judgment in their lives.
God speaks about being the author of life and the creator of every life.
‘See now that I, I am He, And there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded and it is I who heal, And there is no one who can deliver from My hand. (Deut. 32:39)
No one else has the right to take life because He is the only One who can also give life. You are not God (no matter how bad you might want to be, there is no vacancy in the Holy Trinity).
God is the one who forms us in the womb. He guides the chosen sperm to the egg and then constructs the little life (even when it is hard for humans to see that it is a life in the womb).
13 For You formed my inward parts ; You wove me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth ; 16 Your eyes have seen my unformed substance ; And in Your book were all written The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them. (Psalm 139)
Thus says the LORD who made you And formed you from the womb (Isaiah 44:2)
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, (Jeremiah 1:5)
God is the author of life and He chooses what is life and when life begins. He says that life has begun even when the sperm and egg are an “unformed substance”. In modern terms, that is what some call “a lump of tissue, not life”. God closed up the mouth of modern man long ago, even if modern man is too proud to admit it. God calls that “lump of tissue” life in progress, a life that He is constructing. What gives you the right to destroy God’s work?
When abortion takes place, the womb, the place of life and God’s construction of a masterpiece, becomes a grave.
Because he did not kill me before birth, So that my mother would have been my grave, And her womb ever pregnant. (Jeremiah 20:17)
There are a lot of walking graves in the state of Mississippi and the people have voted to legally create many, many more. I am ashamed to say that I am from this state for this very reason. There are churches on every street corner and abortion is legal and the “good” people of Mississippi voted to keep it legal. Many claiming things like, “I am glad that my church does not preach politics”. Abortion is a spiritual issue, not a political one. If you attend a church that does not preach against abortion then you better check your faith and see if it is genuine. (Paul tells us to test our faith and see if it is genuine lest we be deceived).
Now I would like to get into a specific case in the Bible where God deals with abortion. All who live in the society are involved (not just the mother and father of the baby).
22 “If men struggle with each other and strike a woman with child so that she gives birth prematurely, yet there is no injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman’s husband may demand of him, and he shall pay as the judges decide. 23 “But if there is any further injury, then you shall appoint as a penalty life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise. (Exodus 21)
I. Society is obligated to protect life in the womb. First we see that 2 men struggle and they happen to strike a pregnant woman. This abortion is not even done on purpose (unlike today) yet if they strike her and the baby dies then the men must pay with their own lives (life for life). God calls the baby in the womb a living being and he/she has all the rights to life as the people who are outside of the womb. Society is obligated to protect life, especially life in the womb. Today, society votes to abort babies in the womb legally. But for every action, there is a consequence. God does not miss a thing so be aware that “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked ; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.” (Galatians 6:7).
II. The father is obligated to fight for the rights of the baby in the womb. If the mother or baby are injured because of the carelessness of the two men, then the father is to step in and make sure that justice is served. He is to see that these men stand before the judge and receive their sentence. How many men, today, are the ones who send their wives or girlfriends to get an abortion?
III. The lawmakers and sentence givers are to stand up for the rights of the baby in the womb. The laws of the land are to protect the baby in the womb. Today, we brazenly celebrate the fact that we have laws that make it possible to murder innocent babies in the womb. Judges do not punish those who perform abortions or those who go and willingly have abortions. All will stand before God one day and give an account for their actions here on this earth. Are you standing with God on the issue of abortion or are you standing against Him? How did you vote on prop 26? That reveals where you stand.
IV. There is hope for those who have performed abortions, had abortions, voted to keep abortion legal, and or stood by indifferent.
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (I John 1)
If you want to be forgiven by God then it is possible. First you have to confess your sin. To confess means to agree with. You must agree with God that abortion is wrong and that you were wrong in believing that it was okay. You have to follow God’s teaching on abortion and every other subject. If you will commit to doing this then God will forgive you, cleanse you, and make you a new person. That has happened to me. I want to call all of those who stood for abortion (60% of the voters) to admit that they were wrong and beg for God’s mercy so that they can be forgiven and follow God so that the next time there is a vote for or against life, they will choose life and we can make abortion illegal. Upon Mary’s approach to Elizabeth after Jesus conception, Elizabeth was fillled with the Holy Spirit and the baby ( John the Baptist being six months old ) lept in his mothers womb… Who is the Holy Spirit? It is God’s Spirit. Who was conceived in Mary? Emmanuel which being interpreted, GOD with us. Just another example of when life begins, and one from the ALMIGHTY GOD Himself. It causes me to wonder about what people really believe when such a small voice is heard in such a great crowd of so called Christ-men(Christian).
