The Bible has spoken for centuries of the wrongs of abortion. Modern man has decided that he does not want to acknowledge God so he can do what he wishes. Abortion has existed as long as sin has existed so it is not a new phenomena. The pro choice crowd screams that it has a right to choose who lives and who dies. The question is, what if you make the wrong choice or a mistake in this “simple little procedure”? Well, you do not have to wait for an answer. Tragedy has struck during the “simple abortion procedure”. It happened to a woman from Australia. She was told by doctors that one of her twins would be born with a birth defect so it would be better to abort that twin. She agreed to end the life of the baby with the defect. The problem is, the doctors murdered the wrong baby. The wrong twin was aborted. You can see the article here. This is a tragedy and could have been avoided if the doctors as well as the mother would have valued life the way that the Bible teaches. We live in a quick fix society and because of this we have adopted the same views on life. If we do not like a certain life, we want to end it with a quick fix. The Bible teaches on the dangers of abortion and why it is wrong. You can read an article about it here. Maybe this tragedy will be a wake up call for those who promote abortion as well as for those who are indifferent on the subject. Could you imagine what it would be like to be in that mother’s shoes at this moment? What if you would have listened to what the Bible has to say on the subject? Maybe both of these precious lives would still be developing and preparing to live in this world. But we can only speculate because the Word of God was ignored and there are consequences to sin. The problem with sin is, it does not only negatively impact the person involved but also the innocent as well. May God help us learn to listen to Him through His Word.
There is hope for the mother and the doctors who have done this terrible thing. God will forgive them of their deeds (even though there will and should be legal consequences).
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (I John 1)
1) They must admit what they did was wrong (abortion)
2) The must humble themselves
3) They must allow God to forgive them and cleanse them of their actions
This process works for any sin.
