Should you be forced to endorse gay marriage if it is against your conscience?

I came across this article today and thought it would be good to share with you. The people who embrace and promote the homosexual lifestyle claim to want freedom of choice while, at the same time, promote laws that would limit the choices of people who may not agree with the homosexual agenda and lifestyle. This response is well thought out and specifically for a person who does not know if he should be forced to endorse gay marriage just because of his business. I really enjoyed the answer and I think that it is very thought provoking.

This is a classic example of how homosexuals claim to be victims and then end up being the persecutors themselves. This is seen in Genesis 19.

4 Before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people from every quarter ; 5 and they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight ? Bring them out to us that we may have relations with them.” 6 But Lot went out to them at the doorway, and shut the door behind him, 7 and said, “Please, my brothers, do not act wickedly. 8 “Now behold, I have two daughters who have not had relations with man ; please let me bring them out to you, and do to them whatever you like ; only do nothing to these men, inasmuch as they have come under the shelter of my roof.” 9 But they said, “Stand aside.” Furthermore, they said, “This one came in as an alien, and already he is acting like a judge ; now we will treat you worse than them.” So they pressed hard against Lot and came near to break the door.

This is the typical response, “who are you to judge me for my lifestyle?” even though that lifestyle is dangerous to the one living it and creates countless victims in its wake. They immediately want to punish anyone who gets in their way. This is what we see today. Who are you to judge is the mantra and we will punish you if you get in our way is the mentality. Because of this, we have men and women who are now afraid to stand up for what they believe is right for fear of retaliation. Is this the kind of society God intended for us to live in? No. Innocent people who stand up for their freedom of conscience are not to be punished. The aggressor is.

Here is how St. Paul explains the situation.

3 For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority ? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same ; 4 for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid ; for it does not bear the sword for nothing ; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil. 5 Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience’ sake. (Romans 13)

Our society has turned this picture upside down. The aggressors claim victim-hood and are praised and allowed to continue persecuting those who do not agree with them while those who do good for the sake of conscience are punished. And we wonder why the world seems to be falling apart! The good news is that God is just as well as merciful. He will forgive us if we return to Him and He will heal our land.

14 and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (II Chronicles 7)

If not, then we store up wrath for the day of judgment and on that day, the aggressors will be punished even if they were not punished on this earth.

Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance ? 5 But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who WILL RENDER TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS : (Romans 2)

May we all be wise as serpents and yet, as gentle as doves, just as the Lord teaches us to be so that we will not fall into the trap that homosexual agenda has set before us.

  1. The trap that homosexual agenda has set before us, could very well be more ominous than apparent.
There is a reason homosexuality has long been illegal in the United States and many other places. It looks like people are doomed to learn again why it was made illegal once upon a time. This link takes an interesting look at homosexuality and the mark of the beast which everyone equates with “666”, but a serious look at the ancient Greek which Revelations was originally written in shows a more treacherous possibility.

It is time now more than ever for christians everywhere to get serious about Ephesians 6:13 “Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.”

  2. David,

Homosexuality is legal in the US nation-wide since the 2003 Lawrence vs Texas Supreme Court decision.

Just tonight, Illinois became the 15th state to legalize same-sex marriage.

By 2020, every state will legalize same-sex marriage.

We’re turning America into a gay country, and when we do we’re going to ship all the anti-gay born again Christians to Uganda, so if you don’t like it, you better find a good real estate agent now.

    • Just because something is legal does not make it correct (just study up on the Holocaust)

Thanks for letting us know what the gay agenda is (those who actually pay attention have known this for a long time). Now you are getting brazen enough to work openly (like in Sodom). History does repeat itself and if we go down that road, death and destruction await us.

      • I’m not the only one who is brazen enough to work openly. I’ve got some pretty good company. Today, General Motors Corporation announed that they are recognizing all U. S. employee’s same sex marriages no matter what state they live in.

      • Like the old adage says, “two wrongs do not make a right”. Homosexuals do not want to be alone in their sin. They will always encourage others to follow them.

32 Though they know God’s decision that those who persist in such practices deserve death, they not only keep doing these things but also approve others who practice them. (Romans 1)

Thank you for just proving that what is written in the Bible about homosexuals and their supporters is true 😉
