Overcoming Fear L4

This lesson deals with fearing people. Many times, many people are afraid to dedicate themselves fully to the Lord and serving Him because they fear what people might think or say about them. I am baffled by this response but I hear it often. God knows what we are like because He created us. He also knows why we act the way that we do because of the Fall of mankind into sin. In order to help us overcome our fear of people, God moved long ago through a righteous man to write down reasons why we should not fear the people around us, why we should not be afraid of what they will think and say about us. Before we get into this lesson though, I would like to have a quick review of what we have studied so far in overcoming our fears. Continue reading

Overcoming Fear L3 part II

As I shared in the last post, when we receive God’s wisdom and walk in a personal relationship with Him then we are able to overcome our fears. When we reject God’s wisdom then we walk as fools, overcome by our sins leading us to a meaningless life full of fear and regrets. The second half of this lesson teaches us how to stay connected to God so that we can be victorious instead of controlled by fear and sin. Continue reading

A little premarital counseling

I have been asked to lead a wedding ceremony for a member of our church, Good News and today I have our first premarital counseling session. I would like to share some of the information here in this article as resource for those of you who are planning on getting married one day.

I have been married for almost 11 years and most of the stuff that I will write about has come from my own personal experiences. Before doing anything else, you must study the Bible study course “Marriage without Regrets” written by Kay Arthur. Secondly, you must buy the book that accompanies the study. These must be read and studied constantly before you get married and during your married life.

Overcoming Fear L3

I am preparing to teach my final lesson at our youth group this Saturday night. It is a bitter sweet feeling. I am so sad to be leaving all of my dear friends here in Moldova but at the same time I am excited to be able to spend some time with my family back in the USA. My mom is very sick so I am glad to be able to comfort her and share God’s love with her so that she can be comforted by God in the midst of sickness. I am also happy and well as a little afraid about the newest missionary adventure that our family is embarking on. I need these lessons on overcoming fear as I am constantly attacked by my fears, especially while going through this transition. I would like to review the previous two lessons to get up to speed on this subject and introduce lesson 3. Before getting into the review, I want to ask you, “what are your fears at the moment?”. Homosexuals can be transformed by God

For those who claim that homosexuals are born the way that they are and cannot be changed, please take a look at this article about a gay man who was transformed by God. God can forgive and transform anyone and we all need it because we are all sinners.

“One must always remember that these are deeply wounded and suffering people: they need your sympathy, compassion, and prayers.” Continue reading

A week worthy of the Kingdom

I am not sure how you spent the last 168 hours of your life but I do know how I spent mine and I would like to share what happened to me with you. I would like to begin with a quote from Jesus Christ, in His famous “Sermon on the Mount“:

33 But let your first care be for his kingdom and his righteousness; and all these other things will be given to you in addition. (Matthew 6:33, Bible in Basic English)

Does America really need a LGBT history month?

I was shocked to learn of this news the other day, the fact that Obama has declared the month of June as “Homosexual Pride” month and that homosexual activists have declared the month of October (conveniently while children are in school) as “LGBT History” month.

I would love to know your thoughts on this. I am shocked at this blatant propaganda but at the same time I am not surprised. This is how the homosexual agenda works and it started 1,000s of years ago, all the way back in the book of Genesis. Here are some insights on the homosexual agenda. Continue reading

Free to serve, not to sin

I am preaching at our church in a couple of weeks and I want to share the message here in article form so that I can think through the message, and maybe even get some feedback to tweak it before I share it with our church. If you have ever heard a Christian share his or her personal testimony then you have probably heard the phrase “I was set free” or “I have been set free”. Freedom has a broad context when it comes to the Christian walk. One way that we are set free is from our slavery to sin. We no longer have to obey our sin nature. Another way that we are set free is from the dead works of religion that hinder us from drawing closer to God instead of helping us get closer to Him. Both are crucial. Continue reading
