I hope that you have had a great Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas, and getting ready for a happy New Year. I love the holidays because I get a chance to slow down, visit with friends and most importantly, spend time with my family.
One of the things that I love most about the holiday season is the fact that I get to see parades. I love going and watching a parade. There is something magical about it, I assume carried over from my childhood. I enjoy taking my children to see a parade now. I love to watch them enjoy themselves. As a born again Christian, I teach my children from the Bible and when they are old enough to read and write, I will teach them how to study the Bible. The holidays are awesome segues to explain Biblical truth to my children because they are “holy days”. I love to teach my children what the Bible teaches on being grateful and Thanksgiving is a great way to do it. I really look forward to the parades on Thanksgiving Day, especially the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I have been watching it ever since I was a child. The end of the parade always meant that the meal was about to begin so it was a fun activity. School was out and we were able to meet up with cousins and play until we could not stand it. My memories of Thanksgiving are of families. I was saddened to learn of how the homosexual propaganda machine highjacked the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this year by having men perform in drag. An event that celebrates families being thankful (just as the Bible teaches) has been turned into an opportunity to force a lifestyle on people who do not want to have anything to do with it. It is another step in the indoctrination process. I do not want to try and explain to my small children why men would dress up like women on national television. I will teach my children about homosexuality when it is the right time. I have not even begun to teach them about heterosexuality and yet homosexuals feel it is their place to introduce them (my children) to what they call an “alternative lifestyle”. Many say, “do not worry about what homosexuals do in private because it is their business”. The problem is, they are taking what they do in private and flaunting it everywhere for all to see with no shame at all. They are not satisfied with ruining the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for born again Christian families. Now they want to overtake the Rose Parade in California.
The LA Times reports that two gay men will tie the knot during the parade on a float sponsored by an AIDS Healthcare Foundation.
Not only are they shameless, they are also hypocritical. We have seen how “intolerant” they are of the views of others Just Google “Phil Robertson” and you can see the vile and magnitude of their intolerance. The other irony is that they are promoting a lifestyle that makes a person more susceptible to the HIV/AIDS while at the same time claiming to fight against HIV/AIDS.
The Bible warned us long ago about how homosexuals work, specifically about how they are very intolerant and how they try to force their views on the majority.
4 Before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people from every quarter ; 5 and they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight ? Bring them out to us that we may have relations with them.” 6 But Lot went out to them at the doorway, and shut the door behind him, 7 and said, “Please, my brothers, do not act wickedly. 8 “Now behold, I have two daughters who have not had relations with man ; please let me bring them out to you, and do to them whatever you like ; only do nothing to these men, inasmuch as they have come under the shelter of my roof.” 9 But they said, “Stand aside.” Furthermore, they said, “This one came in as an alien, and already he is acting like a judge ; now we will treat you worse than them.” So they pressed hard against Lot and came near to break the door. 10 But the men reached out their hands and brought Lot into the house with them, and shut the door. 11 They struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they wearied themselves trying to find the doorway. (Genesis 19)
Here are a few insights. Do we see these characteristics today?
- The older ones were working together with the younger ones. The older homosexuals had recruited the younger men (maybe even teens or boys) to join them in their debauchery.
- They were shameless in their actions and did not care who got hurt.
- They claim “don’t you judge me” to someone who condemns their actions and lifestyle.
- They try to silence the one who speaks out against them.
There is another insight that explains that these people were not just a handful of the homosexuals acting in an isolated event, as some claim. This was their way of life.
6 and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives thereafter ; 7 and if He rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men 8 (for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds ), (II Peter 2)
Do we see any commonalities between the homosexuals of 1,000’s of years ago and the homosexuals today? Of course, not much has changed. There is hope for those trapped in the sin of homosexuality. There were homosexuals living in Corinth some 2,000 years ago who were trapped in the lifestyle. They were set free through the power of God via the blood of Jesus Christ (just like the fornicators and adulterers were also set free from their sinful lifestyle).
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God ? Do not be deceived ; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. (I Corinthians 6)
I have been set free from sin’s power and any human being who accepts Christ as Lord can be set free, including homosexuals. May God help us understand His Word/Will so that we can serve Him daily by sharing this good news with our fellow man.
