I was able to teach this study last week with my staff and I wanted to share the insights that we attained with you here via this article. The question is, “what is the purpose of the Law?”. There are many people who are confused when it comes to the works of the Law. Some teach that we have to keep the Law in order to please God. Others believe that as people living under the New Testament, there is no longer a need for the Law. Which is correct? Are they both right or could they both be wrong? What does Jesus have to say about this subject? Continue reading

Marriage without Regrets Lesson 4; the role of man
Tonight I have the opportunity to teach on the role of man from the Bible study course “Marriage without Regrets“. I have been married for over 11 years and could not imagine being married a day without first having done the Bible study several times in preparation. Marriage is the most rewarding relationship on this earth, other than a genuine relationship with God. Unfortunately, too many people have the marriage and the regrets because they were not properly prepared for this awesome journey. Continue reading
Jehovah-nissi, Our victory over the flesh
Last night I had the privilege of leading a Bible study on the Name Jehovah-nissi. In fact, this lesson is a two-part lesson, one of which I have already written about in the article Jesus is the Rock. During the first lesson, we learned that our #1 enemy as believers is not Satan. Our #1 enemy is our own sinful flesh. The only way that we are able to have victory over our flesh is to have an encounter with Jesus Christ, accepting Him as Lord and Savior, receiving the Holy Spirit to guide us moment by moment. Once that happens, we finally have the ability to overcome sin and temptation. We are no longer slaves to our sinful flesh. In this article, I would like to write some practical advice on how to overcome our #1 enemy day by day, moment by moment. Continue reading
Do you love, obey, and serve Jesus?
As I prepare to teach this Sunday, I sit and think about all that we just celebrated yesterday as we remembered the glorious resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I was able to teach on the importance of the resurrection yesterday during children’s church. You can read it here if you would like.
The Seven Sayings of Christ from the Cross
As we prepare to celebrate the resurrection of Christ, I would like to focus on the 7 last things that Christ mentioned while on the cross. I have already written a couple of posts on the importance of the Resurrection, and you can check them out here.
Yesterday, Friday, the day after Christ inaugurated the Last Supper, the crucifixion took place. What can we learn from Christ’s last statements on the cross, as He was hanging there, pouring out His blood to be the perfect sacrifice to satisfy God’s wrath poured out upon sin. As He hung in our place, He shared some great truths for us to ponder, now that our sins have been paid for and our slavery to sin has been broken because of the resurrection. Continue reading
Christ’s Resurrection; Sin’s death blow
As I prepare to teach on the Resurrection of Christ, an even that we are going to celebrate this coming Sunday, I am pondering on how to present this truth to children, ages 6-11 years old. I want to present the importance of the Resurrection and not just the fact that it happened. There were many reasons for the resurrection but the main one was to give sin a death blow. In order to present these concepts, I would like to examine two different passages of Scripture that lead us the conclusion that the resurrection actually took place and the daily importance of it. The first passage that would like to consider is I Corinthians 15:1-8. Continue reading
The daily importance of Christ’s resurrection
I have been invited to speak to a MOPS group at our church this week. The theme is Easter, so, instead of just going over the Easter story again, I decided to add a twist to the lesson and ask “what is the significance of Christ’s resurrection for me on a daily basis?”. Can you answer that question? You see, the resurrection of Christ is something that we commemorate once a year yet celebrate daily. What is the daily importance of Christ’s resurrection? The apostle Paul explains this to us in Romans 6. Now that you have had a chance to read the text, I would like to walk through the points of why the resurrection of Christ has daily significance for me as a believer. Continue reading
