Joseph: A type and shadow of Christ

josephThis Sunday, we begin a new quarter in our Connect Groups. As a church, we are walking through the entire Bible over a three year period. In this quarter, we will begin by looking at the life of Joseph, over a three week period. In this first lesson, we are going to begin to see how Joseph is a type and shadow of Jesus Christ. He is a picture of what the Messiah will be like when He comes on the scene. Continue reading

Mission Trip to an unreached people group

Dear friends, thank you so much for your prayers over the past 2 weeks. I had the honor of traveling with a team from our church to do mission work among an unreached people group on the other side of the world. I had the privilege of working with underprivileged children at an orphanage. Along with a teen from our church, I was able to lead a day camp for 35 kids and teens. The youngest was 7 and the oldest was 15. We studied the inductive Bible study course, “God, what is Your Name”. At the camp we discovered the meaning and significance of 13 Biblical Names for God. Teaching kids to interact with God

As I was teaching John 15 last night to one of my Bible study groups, one of the subjects that we covered was “how do we abide in Christ in a practical manner?”. The answer is found in the passage itself, “abide in the Word of God and have the Word of God abide in us”. Our discussion was, “as I focus on making disciples, how to I connect them with the vine, as I am connected to the vine?” In other words, “how do we teach people to interact with God?” according to John 15. The group answer was, teach them to come face to face with God through His Word. If I am a disciple-maker, am I teaching people to interact with God through His Word or I am “telling them what the Word of God says” keeping them from coming face to face with God unfiltered? Showing appreciation in the ministry

volunteersLast night at our church, we celebrated the volunteer teachers in the children’s department. I had the privilege of speaking during this dinner and all throughout the week I prayed about what to share. God brought me to Romans 16 where Paul appreciates all of the people who served with him in the ministry. Paul mentions people by name to show his appreciation. What really stuck out to me was the fact that Paul commented on how they served. He did not just “appreciate” them for offering their time. He writes about how they served. Let’s take a look at how these people served. Take a look at Romans 16:1-16. Continue reading

Ziua Copiilor/International Day of Children

Today is the international day of children so we want to use this occasion to promote the Biblical Truth about children and the dangers of abortion. Here is a link to a good article on the dangers of abortion.

Homosexuals want to manipulate young people

I like to keep up with what is going on in the world and in the news so I read a lot of information on the internet and listen to selected points of view on the radio in order to get a good picture of where the world is going. In 2006 I was introduced to the deceitful, manipulative ways of those who promote homosexuality. Continue reading
