Happy New Year 2017!!! In the previous article, we learned about the importance of being a planner because God is a planner. He calls those who plan and act according to their plans wise. He calls those who fail to plan and who do not work according to a plan foolish. God then places the ball in our court and allows us to choose if we want to be wise or foolish. I do not know about you but, I want to be a wise person and have chosen to plan 2017 with God’s goals in mind and then working according to those plans so that I can reap the spiritual benefits. I am preparing to teach the Word of God to my Sunday School class this coming Sunday. Over the past 2 weeks, we have looked at the humble shepherd boy David and then the mighty King David. It was neat to see how God gives grace to the humble and opposes the proud. David received God’s grace. Along the way, David got proud. God had to humble him. We saw King David humble himself and repent before God and before all of humanity. God forgave David and restored him, but, the consequences remained with David for the rest of his life. For Logan P., yes, there is a difference between the 3 distinct things. Abortion ends a life.
I hope that you have had a great Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas, and getting ready for a happy New Year. I love the holidays because I get a chance to slow down, visit with friends and most importantly, spend time with my family. Continue reading
I was shocked to learn of this news the other day, the fact that Obama has declared the month of June as “Homosexual Pride” month and that homosexual activists have declared the month of October (conveniently while children are in school) as “LGBT History” month.
I would love to know your thoughts on this. I am shocked at this blatant propaganda but at the same time I am not surprised. This is how the homosexual agenda works and it started 1,000s of years ago, all the way back in the book of Genesis. Here are some insights on the homosexual agenda. Continue reading
As I prepare to teach this Friday night at our youth group’s first meeting of the New Year, 2013, I want to encourage the youth to prepare themselves to have a winning year. What I mean by winning year is, when you look back over 2013, you can say that you accomplished many things for the Lord by serving the people around you. Many people just live their lives day by day with an attitude of mediocrity. They are satisfied with the “status quo”. Continue reading
It has been said that the family is the bedrock of society and can be proven by the fact that all over the world every society is structured by the same pattern. A man and woman marry and form a family. This process is repeated multiple times making multiple families which form villages, regions, and eventually countries. When several countries come together they form a continent and all of the continents make up the world. The foundation of this entire process is the family. I propose in this essay that the family has a crucial role in society by being a model of love in three different aspects; love for the children, love between husband and wife, and finally love in promoting moral values. I was thinking about what I wanted to say at Dad’s funeral today. I could not quite come up with the words to put it all in order so I just opened the Scriptures for some inspiration. That is one thing that the Scriptures do for me, they inspire. As I was thinking, I realized that my Dad was also an inspiration to me. In fact, I believe he was so inspiring because of his love for the Scriptures and his desire to live them out in his daily life. My Dad was genuine. What you saw was what you got. He did not “play” church. He did not want to impress everyone with his “Christian” lingo. He just put his head down and “did” what the Bible says to do instead of just talking about what the Bible says that we should do. He knew how to love. He loved his wife with all of his heart. He loved his sons with everything that he was. We never had a stranger walk into our house (once you walked in the door you were a friend and treated like a family member). Our friends were part of the family. All people were treated with respect. Continue reading
Have you heard the latest news from the homosexual crowd? It is quite shocking. Before jumping in and looking at what homosexuals are doing to hurt the poor and needy this year I would like to present what the Bible says about the attitude that homosexuals have towards other people. This can be found in Genesis 19 as well as in Ezekiel 16.
1) Unified – all them men came from every corner of the city
The Bible has spoken for centuries of the wrongs of abortion. Modern man has decided that he does not want to acknowledge God so he can do what he wishes. Abortion has existed as long as sin has existed so it is not a new phenomena. The pro choice crowd screams that it has a right to choose who lives and who dies. The question is, what if you make the wrong choice or a mistake in this “simple little procedure”? Well, you do not have to wait for an answer. Tragedy has struck during the “simple abortion procedure”. It happened to a woman from Australia. She was told by doctors that one of her twins would be born with a birth defect so it would be better to abort that twin. She agreed to end the life of the baby with the defect. The problem is, the doctors murdered the wrong baby. The wrong twin was aborted. You can see the article here. Continue reading
